SUDAN COC PROGRAM


Introduction

The ultimate Standards authority of Sudan, Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organisation (SSMO ) has mandated the Inspection Certificate for exports of regulated products to Sudan.

Verification of Conformity for goods exported to Sudan, is the national program for product approvals established by SSMO under article (5) of the Constitutional Law.

A company exporting to Sudan must obtain an Inspection Certificate for a wide range of goods.

Goods regulated under the SSMO program include, but are not limited to, the following categories of products:

General Information

PROGRAM MANDATED BY

Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organisation (SSMO)

PROGRAM SCOPE

All regulated products should be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by an entity authorized by SSMO to ensure conformity of the products with the applicable Sudanese technical regulations and/or other approved standards.

COC USE

The CoC facilitates customs clearance of the imported shipment immediately at customs ports and release the shipment on the same day.

REGULATED PRODUCTS

Goods regulated under the SSMO program include, but are not limited to, the following categories of products:

  • Food
  • Animal Feed
  • Chemical Products
  • Toys
  • Textiles
  • Electric and electronic products
  • Construction Materials and more

ASSESSMENT SCHEME

The assessment scheme consists of:

  • Documentary verification
  • Shipment inspection
  • Laboratory Testing

TESTING AND APPLICABLE STANDARDS

Test reports from the following entities will be considered:

  • Laboratories with valid ISO 17025 accreditation

Applicable standards are Technical Regulations and Standards approved by SSMO.

INSPECTION

  • To verify the requirements that are not covered by testing such as labelling requirements and packaging conditions
  • Products require pre-shipment inspection, containers’ loading supervision

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Completed Request for Certification (RFC)
  • Manufacturer’s/Seller’s Declaration of Conformity
  • Test Report and Laboratory Accreditation Certificate
  • Inspection Report
  • Final Invoice
  • Transport Document
  • Quality management system certificates (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 22000, etc)
